Following approval at a Medstead Parish Council meeting on 4th August 2008, an Open Meeting will be held in the Village Hall, commencing at 8.00pm, to form a new Parish Plan Implementation Committee to take over from the Medstead Parish Plan Committee.
All residents of the Parish are invited to attend. Village organisations and groups will also be invited.

Medstead Parish Council adopt the Action Plan
The Parish Plan identifies those things we would like to see changed or retained in Medstead and, at its heart, provides an Action Plan to help achieve those desired changes.
The current draft of the Action Plan was presented to the Parish Council at its May meeting and adopted, subject to certain amendments.
The Parish Plan is now in its final stages of drafting, review and approval prior to printing and distribution to all residents of our Parish, anticipated to be during July.

Community Action Hampshire parish plans network meeting, Littleton Memorial Hall, Winchester, 6.30-9.00pm.
Discussion and information on carrying out a wildlife survey, preserving local wildlife and becoming a more sustainable community, with drinks and buffet refreshments.
Although the meeting provides support for parish plan steering groups, anyone who is interested in actioning these issues in their parish or village is welcome to come along to this free event.

East Hampshire Community Partnership Conference: 9.30am-2.00pm, Alton Maltings Centre, Alton.
The purpose of the conference is to seek your views on the likely issues in the next Sustainable Community Strategy for East Hampshire.
Includes a fun, market-place event where you can find out the latest on the new Community Strategy themes, hear feedback from a variety of local consultation events and an interactive voting session, where we will ask for your views on the draft Strategy and areas for improvement.
The new Strategy will shape the Local Development Framework (LDF), the new Local Plan and many other strategic action plans for the district.

Medstead Parish Council Annual Parish Meeting
All residents of the Parish are welcome to attend the Annual Parish Meeting at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. The meeting will include a presentation on the draft Parish Plan: a comprehensive view, from those who live in the Parish, of how we wish to see it develop over the next 10 years.
The meeting will also cover reports from the Parish Council Chairman, local councillors and trustees, Parish Council financial report and a public question and answer session.

Greening Alton & Holybourne Campaign public meeting, 7.30pm, Alton Maltings Centre.
The aim of the campaign is to support local people and businesses take small, simple steps to save energy, reduce waste and so reduce costs.
The meeting, open to everyone who lives or works in Alton, will explain the campaign, how it works and select ten simple actions most relevant to Alton.

Deadline for return of Parish Plan questionnaires.
Thank you to all those who spent time completing the questionnaire. We distributed more than 1600 questionnaires and collected over 1100 responses, so meeting our target of a 70% response rate.

Medstead Parish Plan questionnaire distribution commences.
We need the maximum number of returns from as wide a number of residents as possible, adults through a main questionnaire, 11-17 year olds through a young persons questionnaire, and under-11s through a questionnaire being developed with Medstead School.
We have kept the questionnaire as simple as possible, with tick box responses to questions which are based on the main issues raised by the Love It / Hate It survey. There is also an area for you to add any additional comments or raise any other issues.
We need as diverse a cross-section of views as possible, because residents may see Medstead in completely different ways. We need to hear from young and old, parents and children, new residents as well as those who have lived here all their lives.
The results will be used to develop our Parish Plan: a plan, with timescales and costs attached, to achieve the aims of Medstead's residents, as articulated in the questionnaire.

This is an open meeting and the Community Forum welcome questions or enquiries from members of the public. The agenda includes:

- Taxi share presentation, Tisted and surrounding villages.

- Recredit of unclaimed historic building grants.
- Historic building grant 2007-2008.
- Community project fund applications.

The Committee ran two very popular stands at Medstead's annual Village Fête to raise awareness of the Parish Plan and gather the opinions of residents.
Our Planning For Real tent with gave residents a chance to have a go at planning on large scale parish maps and resulted in a healthy evaluation of Medstead and its surroundings.
We also ran a Pitstop tent at the Fête with twin driving simulators and survey forms to gauge the opinions of the young people of Medstead.
Thank you to all those who spent time filling in our Love It / Hate It survey. Nearly 200 forms were collected, meeting our target to sample 10% of the Parish population.
We are now collating the forms and will be analysing the results so that they can be used to help prepare the main questionnaire due out in the autumn.
If you still have a form at home please fill it in and drop it in to the Handy Stores as soon as possible, thank you!
Thanks also to Funtime Hire for the simulators, Vincent Hire for the loan of the generators and floor boards and St. Andrew's Church for the trestle tables.
As well as canvassing opinions at the Fête we were also recruiting! If you would like to help distribute the questionnaire or get involved in some other way please email Linda.

Data gathering has started for the Parish Plan. Survey forms are being filled in by the people of Medstead Parish and they will be used as an indication of the issues which concern us most.
A more detailed questionnaire, based on the findings of the survey, will be sent out to every household later in the year. This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard, please don't miss it.
The deadline for completion of the survey forms is Saturday, July 14th, so don't forget to return yours!
